The Wildlife Department is headed by a Chief Conservator of Wildlife (BS-20) and organized on territorial basis with two circles in North and South, each headed by a Conservator of Wildlife (BS-19). The Northern Wildlife Circle comprises of 08 districts including Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Chitral, Kohistan and Buner while the Southern Wildlife Circle comprises of 16 districts including Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki, D.l.Khan, Tank, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Mardan, Swabi and Batagram.
